My husband is not my soul mate.

Brilliant writing and thank you so much for bursting our North American Christian bubble of “falling in love”. Marriage is a very special union created by God but movies and American society glamorize this perfect euphoric fantasy experience that lasts forever. True love lasts forever but is nothing like what it is portrayed to be.

Jesus must be our first and only love. God in His wisdom created Adam before Eve, so Adam would learn to find his value and fulfillment in God first and not his partner. While human beings are created to be in horizontal relationship our horizontal relationships are only fulfilling when our vertical relationship with the Father is the foundation of life. In our American culture I would guess that most marriages are actually idolatry and very disappointing to God because we place our spouse above our relationship with God.

I love everything about this article because it frees people from the obsession and paralyzing fear of missing God’s will and finding the right person. However, if our Father knows every hair on our heads (Matthew 6) and pre-planned every single day of our lives before we even lived one (Psalms 139:16) wouldn’t this plan by very application include the person we would marry? It is important not to get lost in the fundamentalism of pre-destination where we are hopelessly stuck and destined to follow God like robots. For human beings to be purely pre-destined in nature God could not have created mankind with a freewill. We are freewill beings with the freedom to make freewill choices.

I see God’s plan for our lives like a map. The Father has a perfect plan for our lives and a perfect eternal destination. As we adventure through this journey GPS (God’s perfect-guiding system – The Holy Spirit) gently speaks (like the voice on GPS when you are driving) go left or go right each day of this great journey called life. The Bible conveys a detailed specific Father who cares about every detail of His child’s life. He does not expect us to find our own way home or plan out every detail of our lives because He knows as finite human beings we are helplessly lost without Him.

This is why He sends the Holy Spirit our GPS (God’s perfect guiding system) to guide us on the most direct, eternally meaningful and earthly productive life possible. For those who are starting to get scared about predestination, don’t worry, God loves us so much that he allows us to choose our own path and chart our own course in life. We can make a million mistakes and like the prodigal son completely walk away from God’s plan for our lives.

But what is so amazing about God’s plan for our lives is that no matter where we go or what we do, we can never void or destroy His plan. In Psalm 139 David realizes there is no where one can go to escape God. Even if I make my bed in the heights of heaven or in the depths of hell you are still there. There is no where I can go to escape your spirit!

One time when I was driving in my car, I took a million wrong turns and ended up driving a hundred miles in the opposite direction of my destination. Yet, no matter how far away I drove, my GPS kept recalibrating and recalculating the most direct and efficient route to my original destination.

This simple example reveals the profound, unfathomable and amazing power of God’s grace for us. All of us made mistakes. Some of us have lived in rebellion and purposely chosen a path in the complete opposite direction of God’s plan. Yet, just like my driving catastrophe, no matter how many wrong turns you have made, no matter how far away from God’s perfect plan you are, your loving Father has already engineered and re-calibrated a perfect script to live the most eternally meaningful life possible.

God’s grace contains unlimited power. God can do more with an 80 year old drug dealer who completely surrenders his life to Jesus than a nominal Christian who has lived a very religious life. This is a most important truth because it means no matter who you are or what you have done there is GREAT hope for you today. Many think that I have made too many mistakes or taken too many wrong turns to follow God’s plan. This is scary and inaccurate thinking many of us embrace. But the truth is following God’s plan has nothing to do with your past and is only dependent on the decision you will make today.

Marriage is one area that makes understanding God’s plan infinitely complex. Maybe if you faithfully followed God through teenage years you would meet a really devoted Christian spouse and together significantly further God’s kingdom in the earth for many years. But instead you decide to live in rebellion from God during teenage years and completely walk away from God for 30 years. At the age of fifty you return to God and live a intensely devoted life serving God and never marrying like the Apostle Paul.

Like the GPS in my car, it seems that the Holy Spirit takes our current position and continually re-calibrates the best plan for marriage (or not marriage) and all details of life. What an amazing and freeing thought! You no longer have to worry about missing God’s plan or soul mate for your life. But at the same time, we can rest in knowing that God’s perfect-guiding system is taking our current position and leading us in the best path to our eternal home with Him.

What freedom! What joy! Release from the chains of searching for my “soul-mate” but still anchored secure in the truth that through God’s perfect-guiding system my Father still has a perfect plan to best glorify Him in the remaining days of this earthly adventure and most effectively chart my course to my eternal home.

The Art in Life

It might seem odd that on this, our one-year anniversary, I am beginning a post with the declaration that my husband is not my soul mate. But he isn’t.WegmannWedding161

I wouldn’t want to imagine life without James. I enjoy being with him more than anyone else in this world. I love him more than I ever thought you could love someone, and I miss him whenever I am not with him. I wouldn’t want to married to anyone else other than James, which is good, because I plan on being married to him forever, and he has to let me die first.

But I reject the entire premise of soul mates.

WegmannWedding294Do you remember those awesome Evangelical 90’s/ early 2000’s where Jesus was kind of like our boyfriend and we all kissed dating good-bye because we just knew that God was going to bring us THE ONE and then life…

Super Bowl Story – Find Your Perfect Script

Ray Lewis is living his perfect script. Are you living yours? Discover the incredible script awaiting your life at Find Your Perfect Script.

In 2013 the Baltimore Ravens overcame great adversity to capture their second world championship. Before the season even began team captain Ray Lewis declared he felt God telling the team this was their year. As devout men of faith the Ravens players embraced Lewis’ sermon and daily reminded each other of this truth. Though every year the Ravens players were determined to win the Superbowl this year was very different.

This is the difference between hope and faith. Every NFL player hopes to win the Superbowl. But the Raven’s players had heard a word from their team captains that ultimately came from God that transferred their hope into authentic, powerful living faith. You can hope with every ounce of mental strength in your being but faith can only come by hearing a word from God. This Word from God via the team captains transformed every player on the team. This team was no longer like the rest of their NFL peers hoping to win a superbowl championship. In a quiet and humble confidence they knew they would win.

The Ravens players desperately needed this confidence when tremendous adversity struck midway through the season. After a strong opening to the season the Ravens appeared prime candidates for Super Bowl success. Then suddenly tragedy struck. In early October defensive player maker Terrell Suggs experienced a serious injury crippling the Ravens defense. Though it was possible the team could manage without Suggs, the All-Pro linebacker was critical to the teams success. The team hobbled through this injury and the offense had to step up their game to account for a weaker defense. As the team continued to endure through this difficult storm, the unthinkable happened. The team’s leader on and off the field Ray Lewis suffered a season ending injury. As the Raven’s emotional and spiritual leader, the team was demoralized?

This is our year? How can we win a championship without our greatest leader? In the next few games the Raven’s struggles on the field intensified without their beloved play caller and leader. However, on field opponents were not the only opposing force the Ravens. The media swarmed like scavengers on a fresh kill. NFL analysts from across the country immediately scratched the Ravens off their list of Super Bowl contenders. High hopes for the team were replaced with grimacing doubts.

Despite the great adversity on and off the field, the Ravens never stopped believing. Though Lewis could not contribute on the field, he intensified his support as the emotional and spiritual leader off the team.

In many sermons Lewis reminded his teammates every day, this is our year. If God is for us who can be against us. No weapon formed against us shall prosper. Though Lewis return seemed impossible, he woke up everyday reminding Himself with God all things are possible. If God promised us this is the year, then this is the year!

To the amazement of the entire NFL community the Ravens completed the season with a respectable record and were playoff bound. They did not do it alone though. As the team accounts hard work combined with miracles was the secret to their success. Miracles are not always passive events outside of human experience. Most miracles are the result of human beings surrendering and partnering with God. One of the most memorable miracles occurred late in the season against the San Diego Chargers. At the time, this was a must win game for the Ravens if they hoped to clinch a playoff birth. Late in the fourth quarter the Ravens found themselves in desperate need of a touchdown with less than a minute to go. However nothing seemed to be working. Instead of gaining yards, the Ravens were rapidly losing yards. After three awful plays the Ravens found themselves in the worst possible position of 4th down and 29 yards to go. This was it! Do or die! The Ravens had to find a way to gain 29 yards on a single play or else their season would likely come to an end. Their opponents sent the majority of their players back into coverage to ensure the Ravens could not throw a deep ball to gain the first down.

With the season in the balance Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco snapped the ball. With defenders closing in at warp speed Flacco scanned the field hoping beyond hope that somehow one of his receivers had gotten open. No one was even remotely open! With time running out and defenders in his face, Flacco tossed the ball to running back Ray Rice in hopes of a miracle. With 29 yards and 11 defenders away from a first down, this seemed like a hopeless option but it provided slightly more hope than getting sacked by the defenders closing in.

As Flacco tossed the ball to Rice, every Ravens fan groaned in disappointment. The chances of a running back being able to gain 29 yards and beat 11 players in the open field is less than one in a million. As the rest of the Ravens players looked on from the bench all they could do was pray for a miracle.

Time stood still as the Rice snagged the ball out of midair and started juking up field. The first few yards were easy as the majority of the defenders were 10-15 yards deep defending the long pass. However as Rice run up field, defenders swarmed him like bees on a flower. The first wave of defenders rushed in. Rice majestically danced to his right and then juked to his left narrowly evading their grasp. Ravens fans everywhere held their breath. Only fifteen yards to go but 8 more defenders ahead.

Rice gazed down the field in sheer terror knowing the stakes of this single play. There was no margin for error. He could not afford to make a single mistake. One ill advised move and the season would come to an end. The next wave of defenders flew in. Rice sidestepped the first player and stiff armed the next. Five down opponents defeated and six more ahead. In a distant subconscious memory Rice gazes over at the electrified Ravens sideline. Every player is on their feet praying and hoping for a miracle.

Feeling the affects of their prayers Rice looks down field with a new energy. Only ten yards to go! I can do this! After evading two more tacklers, Rice sees the light at the end of the tunnel.

Five yards to go and only three more defenders to plow through. Rice lowers his head for the boom and like a bulldozer plows ahead at full speed bracing for impact. The bulldozer runs into a cement wall. The collusion is heard throughout the entire stadium. Instead of plowing through the final defenders, Rice is sent careening backwards in shock.

Stunned and woozy from the collision Rice wobbles off balance only a few yards from the first down marker.

“Stay on my feet. Stay on my feet. If I fall down now our season is over and this run will be for nothing.”

Though everything within his body yearns to collapse and give in, Rice somehow manages to keep his legs moving and body upright. By now a swarm of defenders has gathered around him attempting to bring Rice to the ground. With the propulsion of a jet engine and the determination of a raging bull, Rice keeps driving forward with numerous defenders draped on his back attempting to pull him down. The Ravens bench gazes on in slow motion as their ox-like running back drags three several players towards the first down marker.

Nothing in training camp could have prepared Rice for this moment. This is worse than the suicide drills Rice thinks to himself. Though exhausted and overtaken by defenders Rice digs deep searching for a few more moments of strength. One more yard. Only a few more feet. By now the defenders have latched onto his feet preventing any forward progress. Exasperated and out of options Rice exerts all his strength to lunge forward stretching the ball across the first down marker. His team erupts in cheers as Rice is finally able to breath a sigh of relief. Only a few players later the Ravens score to take the game into overtime and complete the miraculous comeback with a field goal in overtime.

The opposition is stunned. Never in the history of football has a team converted a 4th and 29 in this fashion. It was nothing short of a miracle defying all logic and probability in the game of football. NFL analysts are perplexed attempting to explain this miraculous phenomenon. But this was only the start of something greater. When asked to explain the game Ray Lewis explained it with one simple statement. When God is for us, who can be against.

If it is God’s script for us to win the championship this year, if we commit to give 100% everyday on the field – nothing can stop us. This is faith in action. Faith is a team effort between us and God. We must be 100% committed and invested in His plan for our lives.

Imagine if the Ravens decided since God’s script was for them to win the Super Bowl, they did not need to practice or train. This is a sure recipe for failure because faith without works is dead. If you are not 100% committed to God’s plan for your life, then how on earth do you think it will happen? On the other hand, even your 100% commitment without God’s help is also futile. As the Ravens championship run demonstrated when human beings dare to believe their Script and commit 100% to God’s plan, practical and tangible miracles can happen everyday.

Big deal? One miracle on 4th and 29. This could happen to anyone. As somewhat of a skeptic, I agree. I loved watching this game but was not sold that this was a miracle. However, as the playoffs unfolded continued miracles convinced me otherwise. You may not agree with miracles and that is okay. But there is something undeniable about the Raven’s journey to Super Bowl champions.

Any journey to the Super Bowl may seem miraculous or unlikely. However, before the season even began Ray Lewis told his team the Super Bowl is our script this year. Ray Lewis was so convinced He was willing to bet his entire career on this statement. In another miraculous comeback off the field Ray Lewis determined he was healthy enough to start in the Raven’s first playoff game against the Indianapolis Colts. In the days leading up to the game Lewis announced to the Ravens and the entire football world that at the end of the 2012 playoffs he would be hanging up his jersey forever.

“This is our year” was not mere football talk or positive thinking for Lewis. He knew this was the year. As he boldly declared at the end of every game, Lewis knew God had a perfect script for everyday of His life. A script that would allow Lewis to finish his career in the most profound fashion to demonstrate to the entire world, there is a God and He has a perfect script for the life of every human being.

Unlike most NFL players who decide to retire after winning the superbowl, Lewis declared his retirement before the playoffs began. Most players would not make such a bold assertion because they want to make sure they go out on top. It is one thing for a player with great odds of reaching the Super Bowl to make this prediction. But Lewis’ declaration was especially shocking since the Ravens were huge underdogs to even play in the Super Bowl. The Ravens had the most difficult journey of any team required to play on the road against two of the best teams in NFL history the Denver Broncos and New England Patriots. Ray Lewis’ announcement took the entire football world by storm.

Lewis not only preached this script, He believed it with all of his heart. He believed this script so deeply he was willing to jeopardize his legacy because He was so sure God’s will would be done in His life. Despite everyone gave the Ravens impossible odds, the Ravens knew with God all things are possible.

The 2012 playoffs were a visible, tangible demonstration of this very principle. Propelled by a motivation to win for Ray, the team sailed through the first round of the playoffs with a convincing 27-0 victory. However, there was no time to rest because the most talented and well rounded team in the league awaited only a few days away. The Denver Broncos were the most talented 2012 NFL team and the odds speculated that it would be impossible for the Ravens to win.

Despite the impossible odds the Ravens knew their faith could overcome all odds. If they were 100% committed to God and each other, with God it is even possible to overcome the worst of football odds. It was a game for the NFL history books. Both teams played their hearts out in a highlight filled, high paced, high scoring affair. However, as the last minute of the game wound down it appeared the Ravens played well but would come up one touchdown short of moving onto the AFC championship game. Apart from some miraculous comeback the Broncos were enroute another win.

With only thirty four seconds left, the Broncos defended deep passes relentlessly knowing that all they had to do was keep the Ravens out of the endzone. The odds and momentum of the game seemed to be totally against the Ravens. But when God is for you even the most unfavorable odds are against you can be easily overcome.

With less than a minute remaining the Ravens players were once again on the sideline praying for a miracle. Every passing second brought the Ravens one moment closer to their season ending. Every passing moment reminded Ray Lewis his career may be over in a matter of seconds. Aside from another miraculous event defeat was imminent. With time slipping away the Ravens refused to stop believing.

In the huddle the Ravens reminded each other, all we need is a touchdown. We have done this before and we can do it again. Keep believing. Keep trusting and keep playing with all your strength. One the next play somehow Ravens receiver Jacoby Jones got a little bit of separation
and Flacco sent one last prayer in his direction hoping for a miracle. Somehow beyond belief Jones hauled in the ball and ran the ball in for a touchdown tying the game.

Though the Ravens celebrated, they knew the game was far from over. Peyton Manning was the best quarterback in football. In overtime he would likely march the ball right now the field and score a touchdown ending the game. During the intermission the team reminded each other to keep believing.

This is our script. This is our time. No weapon formed against us shall prosper. With God all things are possible. If God is one our side, nothing… not even the best quarterback in football can take this game from us. The Ravens defense responded to this message completely shutting down the best quarterback in football for an entire quarter of overtime. The defense played so well, they forced Manning to make several very uncharacteristic mistakes. The Ravens took advantage of one of these mistakes and intercepted the ball. The offense came onto the field and in a few plays efficiently moved the football into field goal range. As the ball sailed through the uprights Lewis fell to his knees in prayer, weeping for yet another series of miracles on the field.

Immediately after the game, an interview rushed up to Lewis and asked him to explain how the team overcame incredible odds and beat arguably the best team in football. His answer was again simple.

With God all things are possible. If we are 100% committed to our script, this is our year and no weapon formed against us shall prosper.

Though the entire world witnessed another series of miracles maybe some skeptics are still not convinced. The Ravens were so motivated to dominate their nemesis opponents, the New England Patriots sheer determination propelled them to a very convincing 28-13 win and a Super Bowl birth.

Though the entire world was shocked the Ravens were able to defeat two of the best teams in football enroute to the Super Bowl, Lewis and company explained their faith was assurance of things hoped for all along. In emotional interviews many of the players explained at the beginning of the season something was different. Every year we believed we hoped to go to the Super Bowl but like Ray preached to us, we knew 2012 was our time and the script God had written for our lives.

And so the game began. Convinced of their destiny the Ravens dominated the opening half of the Super Bowl amassing a 21-6 lead. The Ravens placed an exclamation point on their determination by running back a kick return for a touchdown in the opening play of the second half. Barring some ridiculous circumstance the Ravens appeared to enroute to an incredible lights out Super Bowl victory. Instead the lights went out, literally. Suddenly the stadium went completely black as half the stadium lost electricity. Though analysts for weeks will speculate how this 34 minute delay affected the game, one thing is certain – it made for an incredible ending to the Ravens perfect script. Whether it was the extra time for the light time or rising determination on the sidelines, San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick and his offense came alive. As the lights returned to the stadium, so did the San Francisco players. In the course of less than five minutes the entire game changed. San Francisco forced a turnover recovered the ball and quickly scored a touchdown. Then a few plays later after an errant punt, Kaepernick and teammates drove the ball into the endzone again shrinking a convincing 28-6 lead into a close 28-20 affair. After the teams exchanged field goals, Kaepernick drove his team down the length of the field again. On an impressive quarterback bootleg Kaepernick ran the ball in himself closing the margin to 31-29. After a great defensive stand to prevent the two point conversion, the Ravens received the ball back with less than seven minutes in the game. The Ravens engineered an impressive drive deep into San Francisco territory but were forced to settle for a field goal increasing their lead to 34-29.

Hollywood could not have written a more epic finale to the Ravens Super Bowl run and Ray Lewis’ NFL career. With less four minutes left to play Ray Lewis and the Ravens defense would determine who would win the Super Bowl. This final stand is the most miraculous and remarkable aspect of the Ravens journey that emphasizes God’s divine hand in this great adventure. Countless miracles – the Ray Rice 4th and 29, Ray Lewis’ recovery, performance in all past playoff games and many other details – combined to enable the Ravens to reach the Super Bowl.

But how on earth was the script was so perfectly set to allow Ray Lewis and the Ravens defense to determine the winner of the Super Bowl on the final drive of Ray Lewis’ career. Only Divine Author could orchestrate every detail of the game to arrive at this grand finale. The Ravens were winning 28-6. Many argue without the lighting fiasco that enabled San Francisco to refocus the Ravens would have likely cruised to any easy victory. Yet somehow the lights go out at just the right time to allow San Francisco to refocus and likely improve their second half performance. San Francisco could have converted to tie the game. The Ravens were driving the field and seemed like they could have scored a touchdown to secure the victory. So how does every little detail of the game dynamically intertwine to prepare for this grand finale?

It is easy to dismiss the many other miracles as coincidences or just situations that occur in football but in the Super Bowl alone there are far too many coincidences to ignore. In light of Ray Lewis’ statement before the season began and his announced retirement when the Super Bowl seemed impossible, surely these many events must be more than coincidences.

It is easy to be a skeptic. And it is just as easy for an onlooker like myself to make up this God story out of nothing. Only the individuals who lived this script – Ray Lewis and the rest of his team – know the real story. Listen to their words after each playoff game. Giving God credit for their victory was not just a nice thing to say like some people. This was not just a random occurrence. This team knew their script. From the beginning of the season they knew God said this was their time and they committed in 100% faith to this vision.

The most profound message from the Super Bowl is God does have a plan and script for human life. God’s does not just have a plan for famous or religious people like Ray Lewis but he has a plan for you too. Ray Lewis is the first one to tell you God did the impossible and allowed the Ravens to win the Super Bowl to show the world He is God and He cares for each person on the earth.

I grew up in a religious home but never believed God was real. Due to tragedy and life circumstance I desperately wanted to find out. Though I was a huge skeptic and didn’t think God actually existed, I decided to give Him a chance to prove Himself. As an amatuer athelete I prayed and asked God to show me He was real through my sport. Through sports and other very tangible ways God showed me that He was actually real.

To my many friends who are skeptics, I do not expect you to believe this account. However, I would like to ask you to do me one favor. As I did in my teen years, give God a chance to prove Himself. Sometimes we are skeptics so long, we will not believe anything even if it showed up at our front door. God can’t prove He is real because we never give him the chance to.

If you are a skeptic and want to prove that God does not exist take this challenge. For the next month honestly and openly pray everyday, God if you are real show me. I promise you somehow some way, really neat things will start happening in your life. Like Ray Lewis and others will you discover the incredible joy of following God’s script and you will never be the same.

God is working through sports to prove He exists and has a perfect plan for your life. He showed up in tangible ways at the Superbowl and He wants to show up today in your life. A perfect script awaits. Will you embrace it or keep doubting?

At times many of the Ravens players doubted the script but they kept reminding each other if you have faith even as small as a mustard seed (one of the NFL’s toughest and meanest players Terrell Suggs quoted this last night) you will accomplish great things in this life.

Your heart was drawn to the Super Bowl because you have been created for greatness. It is time to stop dreaming about greatness or watching it on tv.It is time to stop dreaming your life and start living your dreams.  Last night you witnessed the culmination of Ray Lewis’ perfect script. He came. He saw. He c conquered He is riding of in the sunset with a legacy this world will never forget. Though you may never play professional football, God has created you to live an equally epic and exciting legacy. Your script is ready and waiting? How will you respond today?

When things looked impossible Ray dared to share with his teammates the vision and perfect script God had for them. Because of one man’s obedience and faith, he led a team to overcome impossible adversity and become true champions. He has called each one of us to do the same. What script has God written for your life? What teammates (family members, business partners, coworkers and friends) has God called you to challenge to live out the perfect script for their lives?

Dreaming & Living Successfully

Philosophy is the most thought provoking and challenging discipline of all (even more complex than the highest levels of mathematics) which I highly esteem and venerate. I revel in the philosophical giants of past centuries however a true philosopher must question everything and accept nothing as true until it can be proven. Even if something is historically accepted as philosophically astute, all foundations should be challenged. Those that endure the trials of reason should used as the foundation to build ones philosophical framework and belief system. Those proving to be unstable foundations should be disregarded completely.
Though I partly agree with the famous philosophical statement of Descartes “I think therefore I am”, there appears to be serious gaps in such logic. What about individuals in a coma or the medial-temporal lobe of the brain temporarily ceases preventing thought processes such as individuals experiencing a stroke? Does a brief cessation of thinking such as a coma prevent one from existing? Imagine an individual in a coma flickering away like a virtual image because they temporarily lose consciousness and the ability to think.
Though Descartes employed this statement to argue personal existence is subject to and based on our ability to think, careful examination of this statement demonstrates there is more to existence than mere thinking. Ravi Zacharias furthers this thought arguing Descartes logical only demonstrates thinking exists. I think therefore I am is not a logical philosophical proof.  The accurate philosophical proof of Descartes presumption would be “I think, therefore thinking exists.” How does Descartes make the jump from thinking to existing?
Consider the illustration of a virtual reality dreamer. Imagine an individual is medically induced into a Matrix-like state where they continually live in a virtual reality. As Mol and Cobb discovered in the recent blockbuster Inception, when you live in a dream world long enough you lose sight of which world is reality and which world is the dream. Advances in technology where virtual reality such as the Matrix and Inception may be possible in future generations demonstrate I think, therefore I am is an obsolete proposition. On the most basic level, our ability to “think” while dreaming at night certainly does not mean that our dreams are reality and we truly exist in such dreams. Dreams are projection of the self conscious yet they are powerful forces that create our future.

Ancient cultures highly esteemed dreams as divine guidance guiding everyday life. The preface of this thought began by investigating the futility and finitude of human thought. Though at the onset of this literary journey I was not sure of the destination of this thought, I now realize this mental exploration has first proved mankind’s inability to accurately understand human nature leading to tragical flaws in philosophical thinking. Followed through to fruition the conclusion of this thought demonstrates the human mind is in desperate need of assistance to understand the big questions of life and also to learn how to cope with the challenges of daily life.

Recently I encountered an intoxicated man lost in the woods. He was so confused and desperately searching to find the way home. I pointed him in the right direction but he went the other way to a dead end path leading to a deadly cliff.

What an accurate depiction of the state of humanity. Intoxicated and blinded by the god of this world, humanity is desperately searching for their destiny and the way home. The Father desperately tries to direct humanity to their destiny but in our intoxicated confused state we are unable to comprehend His direction and so humanity continues to follow the dead end path to an eternal dead end.

This event provides a powerful prophetic picture of humanity. Billions of hopeless human beings are lost in the forest of humanity desperately searching for hope and meaning.

I AM LOOKING FOR MY HOME…..I am completely lost and I have no idea what what I am supposed to do with my life? Do you know where I am supposed to go?? Do you know what I am supposed to do with my life? Do you know if my life even has a plan or purpose? Is my life just random chance? Is there anyone who can show me the way home? Is there anyone who can speak even a single drop of hope into my lives?
Millions of human beings spend their lives lost in the forest of humanity and die completely oblivious to the destiny they have been created for.  Millions of destinies lay dormant waiting to be awakened. But who will awaken them?

Though our modern intellect jeers at ancient cultures who used dreams and spiritual experiences to guide them, ironically today mankind is far more lost and confused then our ancient counterparts. More than ever the human mind is in desperate need of assistance to understand the big questions of life and also to learn how to cope with the challenges of daily life.
As a teacher in many realms, I have discovered most individuals are in dire need of help but are unwilling to admit it. Our pride (thinking we know the answers to life) prevent us from finding the truth. The vast majority of individuals in the world (Theist and Atheists alike) believe they know all the answers so they never search for further understanding. Though not all are concerned with the big questions of life it is evident all humanity is in desperate need of practical guidance to make it through daily life.
Your vision determines your future. Dreams fuel your vision. The majority of humanity has lost their ability to dream and thus will never find their future.
I am thankful incredible opportunities to accomplish incredible feats at a very young age. I know this would not have been possible without a vast degree of divine guidance. I have also had the privilege of associating with enormously successful individuals in many different business industries. Through these interactions I have noted the most successful individuals are those who have had the most divine guidance.
Consider this poetic stanza I found as you reflect on these words:
Our mind needs divine guidance in order to make sense of this world.

Knowledge is but the anchor of the human mind in
an ocean of uncertainty. Yet with it we make bold
attempts to determine the depths of truth, the
boundaries of reason, the vastness of love, the
substance of ethics, but when man is faced with the
question of questions; The meaning of meaning itself, he finds himself
shipwrecked, the true skeptic, on an island of
skepticism. For such questions can only be navigated
with a transcendent sense of direction, and
answered, when the mind ascends to faith.
when the mind ascends to faith.

If philosophy does not coincide with reality then it is futility.

Tebow, Teammates, and a Lesson for the Body of Christ

Gather to Go

Tim Tebow serves in our culture now as a very polarizing figure.  He is loved/hated for his faith in Christ; he is loved/hated for his football ability (“I love his energy” to “he can’t throw a spiral”); and he is scrutinized almost daily on ESPN, more so than any other barely-playing backup quarterback of all-time.  I mean, every day on the’s top headlines, Tebow is mentioned—showing that he still provides a lot of traffic for ESPN,, etc.

Tebow didn’t play against New England because he had two fractured ribs.  Yet, he still dressed out (that is, was in uniform and on the active roster).  Why?

Orphan King Book Review

Brouwer is one of the most gripping young adult fiction writers of all time and delivers another epic adventure in the Orphan King. Brouwer skillfully scripts his stories with plot twists to keep his readers emotionally engaged and on the edge of their seats. The ability to use the power of story to convey powerful life lessons through literature is a very rare skill that sets Brouwer apart from other authors. As the educational director of a school and adolescent counselor I highly endorse all of Brouwers books as they both entertain and endeavor to lead readers on a journey of personal growth and transformation.

Gods plan is the only place life can be truly fulfilling

The enemy has twisted around our thinking to believe that if I seek Gods plan He will send me to Africa or lead me to the most miserable life possible. We worry if allow God to choose our spouse, He will pick the ugliest person in the world or someone we will not like at all. If we allow God to determine where we work He will give us a job we hate where we make next to nothing. If we allow the God to choose where we live, He will ship us to the most obsolete isolated place on the entire earth. Where do these crazy ideas come from? The enemy has so reversed our thinking that it seems following God’s plan will leave us miserable and the only possible way to enjoy life is to search for it ourselves. What is stopping you from giving our lives completely to Christ? Deep down we are holding out on God because afraid we will not be able to enjoy life. In reality the opposite is true. As long as we are planning our own lives, we will never be satisfied or fulfilled. God created you with certain passions, interest and desires. He also scripted a perfect plan that corresponding to fulfill every unique passion, interest and desire He created you with. Only your Maker knows the perfect spouse, job and life that will bring fulfillment to your life. Apart from His perfect plan you have no hope of experiencing true joy and fulfillment in life.
We must be as cunning as serpents and understand the enemy daily tries to assault our lives with subtle ideas of things that might bring satisfaction to your life. I have come to recognize living my greatest dreams outside of the Father’s perfect plan will bring complete misery and emptiness. The only place my life can be truly fulfilled is in the center of the Father’s perfect plan for my life.

Honestly, I worry about many details of my life including finding a spouse, finances and many other details about my future. But recently, God has begun to address this issue. I feel God has been convicting my heart with this thought, “anything you are worrying about in life means that you are not fully convinced I have a good plan for your life”. Furthermore, God also showed me that when I worry about something, I am in essence telling him that I think I can do a better job managing my life than he can!

I think sometimes the best thing we can do when we are concerned about any area of life is to ask ourselves, can I do a better job managing my life than God?

The fundamental question I must ask myself is whose plan is better, my plan or God’s? Is my Father trustworthy? If I ask for bread, why do I think He will give me a stone? If I give Him complete control of my life, why would my Father who loves me make my life miserable?

As I daily ask this question I am realizing how much better God’s plans are than my own plans. In Isaiah God says that his thoughts are far greater than our thoughts. His plans for our life are also far greater than anything we could possibly do on our own.  In Corinthians God reminds that our minds cannot even begin to fathom the incredible plans he has for all who love him. In Jeremiah 29:11 your heavenly Father promises, I know what I’m doing. I have your life all planned out. I will always take care of you and never abandon you. I have an incredible future planned for you, if you will only trust and hope in me.

God wants you to know he has an incredible future planned for every area of your life, if you will only trust God and surrender to his daily purposes for your life. God has an incredible plan for your life but we need to surrender our lives and allow God to lead us into his perfect plan for our lives. Only God can lead us into his perfect plan for our lives! As long as we are leading, we will never find the joy, happiness and peace God has planned for our lives. We need to surrender our fears, doubts, anxieties and even desires to his plan. I used to think Jesus words in Matthew 16:24 were kind of harsh, you must deny all your own desires if you want to follow me. Isn’t that a bit extreme? But now I am realizing Jesus spoke these words with intense love for us because he knew until we totally let go of our own desires and plans we would not be able to fully and embrace God’s perfect plan for our lives.  Leaning on our own wisdom and guided by our own desire it is impossible to fully trust the Lord and follow his plan for our lives.

Fully embracing and living in God’s plan for our lives requires us to lay our every desire and ambition at the foot of the cross. Though God has created human beings with a desire for human relationship and marriage, this desire must be laid at the foot of the cross. When we lay our lives at the foot of the cross, God raises us up to new life. When we lay our desires at the foot of the cross, only then can God bring the true fulfillment of our desires.

Your heavenly Father longs for you to surrender this area of your life to him, so he can fulfill his perfect plan for your life. I can’t promise God will give you a wife but I can promise God’s plan for your life is far better than any life you can dream up for yourself. Worst case scenario totally surrender your life to God and for some reason his plan is for you to remain single. You will still be far more fulfilled serving God single then writing your own script for your life and getting married. Though to every single person, marriage seems very appealing, outside of God’s plan marriage very quickly becomes a huge burden and miserable. Personally, I know fully surrendering to God’s will and allowing him to lead me is the only hope I have of finding a godly wife who will enrich my life. Considering the small population of females in the world who are sincerely following God with all of their hearts, I know without God’s intervention the chances of meeting a girl who is passionate and fully committed to the Lord is dismal. God wants you to know the only way to have a godly and vibrant marriage is to fully surrendering your life to God and trust in his perfect plan.

I pray your Heavenly Father would continue to encourage you and reveal the reality of his incredible plan for your life. God has written hundreds of scriptures to continually remind you of this truth. I would highly recommend going to an online bible and searching out every scripture on God’s plan for your life. God wants to build your faith and prove to you he has a perfect plan for your life.

standing on the edge. ceasing ever day.. how could i have lived so foolishly before..

chasing all my dreams.. married my sweetheart lived the LIFE of my dreams..

only left me broken and the waves of death washed over my cold heart..

in awe of the second chance i have.. i am standing on the edge.. the sweetest place in this universe.. to realize.. to have been given a second chance at life..

i am standing on the edge of everything i thought i knew before.. i am standing on the edge of the hopeless live ihave lived.. im standing on the edge of the life i never.. never dreamed never knew..

the perfect life i never got a chance to live.. i am standing of the edge of this world and reality.. where life meets eternity..

i am standing the edge between the life i never knew and the hopeless life ive lived

i am standing on the edge. of everything i knew for sure.. i am standing on the edge.. stuck between this world and reality.. stuck between what i see and what is real..
who i am and who ive been..

im standing on the edge. wishing longing waiting for something to be real..

im standing on the edge.. on a canyon all alone.. caught between the hopeless life i lived and the reality i never knew before.

how much longer must i wait.. for hope to be revealed.. for my real life to begin..

and im standing on the edge caught between reality and eternity..

knowing there is nothing for me from the human life i have already lived..

standing on the edge.. this body is my prison.. keeping me from the life i long to SEE.

standing on the edge of this life.. there is on better place in this life.. everybody longs to be..

standing on the edge..

to realize there is no fulfillment in this life.. that is what standing on the edge.. realizing there is nothing for me in this life..
nothing on the planet that will ever fill the desperate desire of my heart.. nothing this planet that willl ever satisfy the human heart..

when you realize this you are standing on the edge of this life.. searching for soemthing deep inside..
a whole inside the human heart that this world will never be able to fulfill..

so where do you go when you realize there is nothing on this planet that will ever satisfy you?? there is nothing on this planet that will ever make you truly happy? where do you go when you realize there is nothing on this planet that will ever fufilll the desperate longing of your heart…

this is the question every human being is faced with in life.. when they finally achieve their dreams.. when you have everything you could ever dream would make you happy in life..

when you have everythign this world can off.. but the emptiness in your heart still remains.. where do you go??

where do you go when you realize there is nothing that will satisfy the longing of your heart. the craving in every humans heart for something greater.. a desire for more..

as an eleven year old so small.. so young.. so unlearned. i had no answers.. even then i realized the hopelessness of this life..

the emptiness of that every human being experiences.. the emptiness that every human heart is so deeply and intimately acquianted with.. as human beings… especially as civilized adults.. we try to cover it and pretend everything is alright.. adults. the ones who are so concered with outward appeared the most incencere.. you never know the heart.. at least teenagers are very emotional..

when babies are born they are sincere.. their heart laid out for everyone to see… if they have a problem you will know about.. somehow as human beings live they lose that.. they feel like they have to act proper and cant be real.. so they mask their heart and pretend..

but somewhere deep down past the layers of rumble.. the layers of sediment that settle over the human heart.. WHIICH is REALLY PRIDE.. the desire TO BE IN CONTROL… not willling to admit how finite.. and insignificant one really is..

deep down beneath the layers of pride that harden and crust over the human heart.. there is an emptiness that every humam being is so intimately aquainted with.. no matter how high.. how exulted a human being is.. no matter how powerful they look or how much they seem happy and all together..

deep within the confines of every human heart lies this emptiness.. a sincere desire almost like a young child realizing how little.. and so small.. and unknowing.. willing to do anything.. find true purpose and meaning..  the character of ones inner self..

no matter how exulted how proud.. movie stars.. tom brady.. will smith.. barac oboma.. within every human being lies ones true inner self..

for many have tried to lose their inner self.. covering it with layer upon layer of the world.. they feel their inner self makes them look weak.. and finite..

they cant be famous.. they cant be in CONTROL with inner self.. afraid their inner self.. will make themselves look foolish or stop them from looking powerufl and IN CONTROL.. they bury their inner self deep within themselves..

oh how so many human beings have buried their inner self.. to look powerful.. to look important.. TO BE IN CONTROL.. to see more powerful.. To make themselves look bigger than anything else in the universe!!

but no matter how in control.. no matter how exulted.. how proud and arogent on may appear.. every human being has an inner self crying out like a baby for purpose and inner meaning of life..

the inner self cries for the creator like an infant cries for their mother.. its a cry so desperate.. so overwhelming.. that it overtakes you.. no matter what you are doing.. no matter where you.. its there.. stronger and more powerful than what ever you are doing..

stealing any kind of joy.. you may have from living the LIFE.. even when you are living in your mansion on the ocean shore line.. even when you marry the most beautiful girl in the world.. even when you have everything this world has to offer.. somewhere deep down inside.. you are never really satisfied..

you still expereience this deep agony.. this hopeless cry of your inner heart long for the one who made it.. the inner self is always there.. this desperate cry is the heart of every human being who has ever lived..

however many have layered so much pride and covered their inner self.. they dont even know where to find it.. its barried deep within the layers of PRIDE in their heart.. the layers of CEO.. having the DREAM life. BEING the KING of the castle.. having the MOST.. most beautiul wife.. so many human beings try to fill their hearts with lives pursuits.. spending an entire lifetime chasing these dreams.. trying to stuff so much into their that they can somehow get rid of or at least try to cover up their inner self..

many have succeed at numbing the pain.. with all kinds of drugs.. why are they so popular today.. alchohal.. relationships.. any high to give them relief at least for a momment

but all the world has to offer is a temproary high.. because the inner self craves so much more.. all the temorpary highs in this world are just a twisted messed up verse.. of what the human heart is really craving.. its like when you are hungry for a really GOOD steak.. you have coyote ..its still nourishment but it tastes terrible.. and is poisoness to the human body.. human beings cant eat coyote..

just the same all temporary highs are poisoness to ones inner self.. the more you go after the temporary highs of life..the deader you will feel.. you are numbing the pain.. but also creating layers of pain heart ache.. just like rock sedmiment covering ones inner self..

beacuse of the life of indulagne.. and seeking these temoporary highs.. most teenagers..  now by the age of 20 most human beings… have layered a lifetime of garbage over their hearts.. many dont know where to find their inner self..

if you ask many they feel as if they have lost their inner self completely.. they can no longer feel anymore.. i have been there and done that.. because when you start chasing the dream.. you  dont have time to listen to the innerself.. so you ignore it!!  you realize that if you want to pursue the dream.. if you want to live the life .. you dont have time to act like a little kid anymore.. if you want to be BIG in the WORLD somehow you have gott shake this longing of your heart within you.. you have to bury you inner self.. to be IN CONTROL..

sadly that is what most human beings do in life..

in order to be able to chase your dreams.. you must cover up your inner self.. to achieve success and to achieve the LIFE that is exactly what many have done burying their inner self so deep within them.. they can no longer even find or hear it.

many are just running aimlessly thorugh life. with a numbness so deep. a numbness so deep they cant even think anymore.. they are so unaware.. they cant feel often they wonder if they are even alive.(uncle DJ and aunt JUDY..)

truly they are not.. so many go through this life just existing.. because without ones inner self you cant really be alive at al.. barying ones self so deep inside you cant feel at all…

they are guided by building a bigger empire..

the inner self is ones inner compass the heart is the guiding navigating force of a human being.. without it you are hopelessly lost.

that haunted my every day… since i was 11 when my grandma died.. every day i woke up with this emptiness.. a whole in my heart.. a deep desire. a DESIRE So GREAT.. for a long time it dominated my life.. i was desperate to do anything to fill it or FORGET ABOUT it at aleast..

i remember the deep agony within my heart day after day.. sleep was the only relief i had.. for this constant hopelessness brooded over my heart.. making me contemplate the deep complexicities of life..

what is the point of life? i remember as a young boy being so overwhelmed.. so intimadated by the VASTNESS of the UNIVERSE.. and the finite.. temporalness of human beings.. seeing death steal my healthy great.. beautiful grandmother within only a few months.. sent shockwaves of fear rippling through my entire body as i pondered the human condition..

human life is so fraile so fragile.. i could die at any moment. i remember thinking.. how death totally and utterly terrified me.. a paralyzing fear.. that RAN my life.. it was all i could think of.. even while in school.. i remember one  this feeling of hopelessnes.. this paralyzing fear..pulsating so strongly thorugh my mind..

but there was something telling me

this time i wont waste it.. how could i spend my entire life.. satisfied with her.. how could i have wasted my entire life.. NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
how awful.  I will spend all eternity with regret wishing i had lived differently wishing i could go back and live again..

why i dont know why.. my heart faints.. just thinknig about it.. i dont know why.. but you have given me another shot.. i dont know why nothing i did.. but i am here..

i have founded the life i have spent a lifetime searching for.. found the fulfillment i ahve been longing for my entire life!! its you baby..

you are my LIFE.. why am i still here.. why?? i found life.. this time!!

NOTHING FOR ME ON THIS PLANET.. i shouldnt still be here.. didnt you just send me back.. to find LIFE.. why am i stilll here.. i made enough mistakes last time.. never living  that way again.. i have alreadly lived this life.. i know the hopelessness.. the futility of it all like Solomon..

Psalms 1-29 Commentary

1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful;
2 but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on His law doth he meditate day and night.

Do you live every moment of your life submerged in the eternal reality of Gods word. Our greatest challenge is continually maintain this perspective and live in this world of reality. The things of this world so easy and so quickly shatter this reality creating a virtual world of illusions and insanity.

Which world are you living in?

Is your life planted in the new world of Gods kingdom near the river of life or do you live in the desert of this temporal world that is soon dying out.

3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither, and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Is every moment of your life living at the river of life in the Fathers eternal kingdom?

How deeply are you rooted in this reality?

4 The ungodly are not so, but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

Those with no spiritual  roots are so easily allured by the enemy to waste their life chasing dead end desires.

6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

If you know the Father your life is following a carefully precharted course that is becoming more bright and beautiful everyday. Nothing compares to living with full assurance knowing the Father has delicately and perfectly planned every detail of my life.

All those who do not know God life is getting darker and more miserable everyday. Life is a miserable dead end mine shaft that keeps getting darker smaller and more hopeless everyday.

Though we often fail to realize every spiritual journey mirrors one of Dantes three world. This is not mere poetry but each world is a depiction of our earthly lives.

Psalms 2

1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people devise a vain thing?
2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD and against His Anointed, saying,
3 “Let us break Their bonds asunder, and cast away Their cords from us. ”

Since the fall of humanity mankind has been trying to become their own king and supreme ruler. Humanism is the exultation of man above all else. Man is the glory and end to all things. Atheism has nothing to do with science but is final and complete solution to man becoming his own God. Since the beginning man has acted as his own God but has been plagued by a convicting awareness of the greater one.

However now if we can use foolish and distorted arguments to completely erase a God consciousness finally we shall be totally and completely free and vindicated from the tyranny of such an oppressive dictator who is the only reason for our sustained existence.

How does God feel about all of this foolishness?

4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh; the LORD shall hold them in derision.
5 Then shall He speak unto them in His wrath, and vex them in His sore displeasure:
6 “Yet have I set My King upon My holy hill of Zion. ”
7 “I will declare the decree: The LORD hath said unto Me, `Thou art My Son; this day have I begotten Thee.
8 Ask of Me, and I shall give Thee the heathen for Thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for Thy possession.

As in the days of Sodom expediently increasing wickedness is only a sign that the time spoken of in Daniel 2:44 draws closer with every passing day. The Wise Farmer has sovereignly chosen to give human beings free will so both righteousness and wickedness are growing to maturity and the great harvest and judgment will soon ensue.

All humanity rages knowing all earthly kingdoms and powers will soon be completely crushed by the final eternal and most powerful unending kingdom of the Father.

8 Ask of Me, and I shall give Thee the heathen for Thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for Thy possession.

Daniel 7:22 the saints shall possess the kingdom
1 cor  3:2r all things are yours

The righteous will inherit the earth. Even now the Father is saying ask of me and I will show you great and wonderous things. You shall reign today as my kingdom ambassadors as kings and priests on this earth.

Psalms 3

3 But Thou, O LORD, art a shield for me, my glory and the lifter up of mine head.
4 I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and He heard me from His holy hill. Selah
5 I laid me down and slept; I awaked, for the LORD sustained me.

Do you know Him this deeply? Has the Father become everything to you?

When you become this desperate and this dependent on the Father you will discover a depth of relationship with God you never thought possible. Your Father longs to become your closest friend and know you so deeply that you share one mind and heart. This is the very purpose and journey of this life. To know the Father as your own soul.

6 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people that have set themselves against me round about.
7 Arise, O LORD! Save me, O my God! For Thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheekbone; Thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.
8 Salvation belongeth unto the LORD. Thy blessing is upon Thy people. Selah

Salvation is only found in an abiding relationship with the Father and with the Son.

Psalms 4

1 Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness! Thou hast set me at large when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer.

The Father is longing and waiting for you to pick up the phone and call Him. All the provision and protection of heaven has been provided for you. The Father has perfectly planned every day of your life and is only waiting for you in your freewill to give Him the go ahead for His perfect plan.

I am only waiting for you to cry out to me and call out to me.

3 But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for Himself; the LORD will hear when I call unto Him.

5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD.

What are the sacrifices of righteousness?

8 I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep; for Thou LORD only, makest me dwell in safety.

Completely lost in and surrendered to the Fathers perfect will is the only safe place.

Psalms 5

3 My voice shalt Thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto Thee and will look up.

Continually looking up and maintaining an eternal perspective is foundation of an effective prayer life. If we can’t clearly see Gods perfect will a given situation how on earth can one prayer about it and believe with any confidence God will move in the situation.

7 But as for me, I will come into Thy house in the multitude of Thy mercy, and in Thy fear will I worship toward Thy holy temple.
8 Lead me, O LORD, in Thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make Thy way straight before my face.

A lifestyle of worship caught up to the throne of God paves the pathway and prepares the way for Gods perfect plan for your life.

11 But let all those that put their trust in Thee rejoice; let them ever shout for joy, because Thou defendest them; let them also that love Thy name be joyful in Thee.
12 For Thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favor wilt Thou compass him about as with a shield.

If you will only put your complete trust in me because my plan for your life  is so much greater than anything you could do in your own. Your wildest dreams are pathetic shadows and miserable compared to my plan for your life.

Psalms 6

2 Have mercy upon me, O LORD, for I am weak; O LORD, heal me, for my bones are vexed.

6 I am weary with my groaning; all the night I make my bed to swim, I water my couch with my tears.

Have you ever felt like this? Maybe you feel like this today. Is so take heart. In your desperation the Lord hears you. Those who are desperately seeking Him will find Him.

9 The LORD hath heard my supplication; the LORD will receive my prayer.

Psalms 7

8 The LORD shall judge the people: Judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness and according to mine integrity that is in me.

10 My defense is of God, who saveth the upright in heart.
11 God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.

12 If he turn not, He will whet His sword; He hath bent His bow and made it ready.

17 I will praise the LORD according to His righteousness, and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.

Do you realize how Holy the great King is? To you revere and worship Him for who He is? Does your life cry worthy is the Lamb who was slain or maybe only the occasional whisper?

Psalms 8

1 O LORD, our Lord, how excellent is Thy name in all the earth, who hast set Thy glory above the heavens!

3 When I consider Thy heavens, the work of Thy fingers, the moon and the stars which Thou hast ordained,
4 what is man that Thou art mindful of him, and the son of man that Thou dost visit him?

6 Thou hast made him to have dominion over the works of Thy hands; Thou hast put all things under his feet,

Psalms 9

1 I will praise Thee, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will show forth all Thy marvelous works.

What does it mean to praise the Lord with your whole heart and reveal His works?

Becoming transparent so when people look at you they see Christ.

7 But the LORD shall endure for ever; He hath prepared His throne for judgment.
8 And He shall judge the world with righteousness; He shall minister judgment to the people in uprightness.
9 The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.
10 And they that know Thy name will put their trust in Thee; for Thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek Thee.
11 Sing praises to the LORD who dwelleth in Zion! Declare among the people His doings.

He remembereth them; He forgetteth not the cry of the humble.
13 Have mercy upon me, O LORD! Consider my trouble which I suffer from them that hate me, Thou that liftest me up from the gates of death,
14 that I may show forth all Thy praise at the gates of the daughter of Zion. I will rejoice in Thy salvation.

19 Arise, O LORD, let not man prevail; let the heathen be judged in Thy sight.
20 Put them in fear, O LORD; that the nations may know themselves to be but men. Selah

Psalms 10

3 For the wicked boasteth of his heart’s desire, and blesseth the covetous whom the LORD abhorreth.
4 The wicked, in the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God; God is not in all his thoughts.

5 His ways are always grievous; Thy judgments are far above, out of his sight

11 He hath said in his heart, “God hath forgotten; He hideth His face, He will never see it. ”
12 Arise, O LORD! O God, lift up Thine hand! Forget not the humble.

16 The LORD is King for ever and ever; the heathen have perished out of His land.
17 LORD, Thou hast heard the desire of the humble; Thou wilt prepare their heart, Thou wilt cause Thine ear to hear,
18 to judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may no more oppress.

Psalms 11

1 In the LORD I put my trust; how say ye to my soul, “Flee as a bird to your mountain,

3 if the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? ”
4 The LORD is in His holy temple! The LORD’S throne is in heaven! His eyes behold; His eyelids test the children of men!
5 The LORD trieth the righteous; but the wicked and him that loveth violence, His soul hateth.

7 For the righteous LORD loveth righteousness; His countenance doth behold the upright.

Psalms 12

4 who have said, “With our tongue, we will prevail; our lips are our own; who is lord over us? ”
5 “For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, ” saith the LORD; “I will set him in safety

6 The words of the LORD are pure words, as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
7 Thou shalt keep them, O LORD; Thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

Psalms 13

5 But I have trusted in Thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in Thy salvation.
6 I will sing unto the LORD, because He hath dealt bountifully with me.

Psalms 14

1 The fool hath said in his heart, “There is no God. ” They are corrupt; they have done abominable works; there is none that doeth good.
2 The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand and seek God.
3 They have all turned aside; they are all together become filthy. There is none that doeth good; no, not one.

who eat up my people as they eat bread and call not upon the LORD?

5 There were they in great fear, for God is in the generation of the righteous.
6 Ye have shamed the counsel of the poor, because the LORD is his refuge.
7 Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! When the LORD bringeth back His people from captivity, Jacob shall rejoice and Israel shall be glad.

Psalms 15

1 LORD, who shall abide in Thy tabernacle? Who shall dwell in Thy holy hill?
2 He that walketh uprightly and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart;

4 in whose eyes a vile person is contemned, but he honoreth them that fear the LORD; he that taketh an oath to his own hurt, and changeth not;

Psalms 16 and Psalms 17

1 Preserve me, O God, for in Thee do I put my trust.
2 O my soul, thou hast said unto the LORD, “Thou art my Lord; my goodness extendeth not to Thee,
3 but to the saints that are on the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight. ”

5 The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup; Thou maintainest my lot.

7 I will bless the LORD who hath given me counsel; my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.
8 I have set the LORD always before me; because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

11 Thou wilt show me the path of life; in Thy presence is fullness of joy; at Thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

Psalms 18

1 I will love Thee, O LORD, my strength.
2 The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
3 I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from mine enemies.
4 The sorrows of death encompassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid.
5 The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death lay before me.
6 In my distress I called upon the LORD and cried unto my God; He heard my voice out of His temple, and my cry came before Him, even unto His ears.

7 Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations also of the hills moved and were shaken, because He was wroth.

9 He bowed the heavens also and came down; and darkness was under His feet.
10 And He rode upon a cherub and flew; yea, He flew upon the wings of the wind.
11 He made darkness His secret place; His pavilion round about Him was dark waters and thick clouds of the skies.

12 At the brightness that was before Him, His thick clouds passed, hail stones and coals of fire.
13 The LORD also thundered in the heavens, and the Highest uttered His voice with hail stones and coals of fire.

18 They came against me in the day of my calamity; but the LORD was my stay.
19 He brought me forth also into a large place; He delivered me, because He delighted in me.
20 The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands hath He recompensed me.

27 For Thou wilt save the afflicted people, but wilt bring down haughty looks.
28 For Thou wilt light my candle; the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.

30 As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the LORD is proved; He is a buckler to all those that trust in Him.
31 For who is God, except the LORD? Or who is a rock, except our God?
32 It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.
33 He maketh my feet like hinds’ feet, and setteth me upon my high places.
34 He teacheth my hands to war, so that the bow of steel is broken by mine arms.
35 Thou hast also given me the shield of Thy salvation; Thy right hand hath held me up, and Thy gentleness hath made me great.
36 Thou hast enlarged my path under me, that my feet did not slip.

39 For Thou hast girded me with strength for the battle; Thou hast subdued under me those that rose up against me.

41 They cried, but there was none to save them, even unto the LORD, but He answered them not.

46 The LORD liveth, and blessed be my Rock! And let the God of my salvation be exalted!

50 Great deliverance giveth He to His king and showeth mercy to His anointed, to David and to his seed for evermore.

Psalms 19

1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament showeth His handiwork.

4 Their sound has gone forth through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath He set a tabernacle for the sun,
5 which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.
6 His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it; and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.
7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul; the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
8 The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.
9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever; the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
11 Moreover by them is Thy servant warned, and in keeping of them there is great reward.
12 Who can understand his errors? Cleanse Thou me from secret faults.
13 Keep back Thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me. Then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent of the great transgression.
14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Thy sight, O LORD, my Strength and my Redeemer.

Psalms 20

1 The LORD hear thee in the day of trouble! The name of the God of Jacob defend thee!
2 May He send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion.

Father hear me this morning I desperately need your help and to hear you speak.

6 Now I know that the LORD saveth His anointed; He will hear him from His holy heaven with the saving strength of His right hand.
7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.
8 They are brought down and fallen; but we are risen and stand upright.
9 Save us, LORD! Let the King hear us when we call.

Psalms 21

1 The king shall rejoice in Thy strength, O LORD; and in Thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice!
2 Thou hast given him his heart’s desire, and hast not withheld the request of his lips. Selah
3 For Thou goest before him with the blessings of goodness; Thou settest a crown of pure gold on his head.
4 He asked life of Thee and Thou gavest it to him, even length of days for ever and ever.
5 His glory is great in Thy salvation; honor and majesty hast Thou laid upon him.

7 For the king trusteth in the LORD, and through the mercy of the Most High he shall not be moved.

13 Be Thou exalted, LORD, in Thine own strength; so will we sing and praise Thy power!

Psalms 22

1 My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken Me? Why art Thou so far from helping Me, and from the words of My groaning?
2 O My God, I cry in the daytime, but Thou hearest not; and in the night season I am not silent.
3 But Thou art holy, O Thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.

14 I am poured out like water, and all My bones are out of joint; My heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of My body.
15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd, and My tongue cleaveth to My jaws; and Thou hast brought Me into the dust of death.
16 For dogs have surrounded Me; the assembly of the wicked have enclosed Me; they pierced My hands and My feet.
17 I can count all My bones; they look and stare upon Me.

19 But be Thou not far from Me, O LORD; O My Strength, hasten Thee to help Me!
20 Deliver My soul from the sword, My only one from the power of the dog.

22 I will declare Thy name unto My brethren; in the midst of the congregation will I praise Thee.
23 Ye that fear the LORD, praise Him! All ye the seed of Jacob, glorify Him; and fear Him, all ye the seed of Israel.
24 For He hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath He hid His face from Him, but when He cried unto Him, He heard.
25 My praise shall be of Thee in the great congregation; I will pay My vows before them that fear Him.
26 The meek shall eat and be satisfied; they shall praise the LORD that seek Him. Your heart shall live for ever.
27 All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the LORD, and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before Thee.
28 For the kingdom is the LORD’S, and He is the governor among the nations.

30 A seed shall serve Him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation.
31 They shall come and shall declare His righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that He hath done this.

Who shall declare His righteousness?

Psalms 23

1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

A shepherd lives day and night for the sole purpose of caring for, protecting and providing for every one of His sheep. The Father lives to tenderly shepherd every moment of your life. This is the very purpose God created the universe to personally know and look after you. The Father does not only shepherd you every moment of your life He has also written a perfect script preplanning  every detail of your life.

2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; He leadeth me beside the still waters.

The Father’s script for your life is the only place to find peace, fulfillment and true rest. Outside of Gods perfect plan you will always be restless and in the desert.

3 He restoreth my soul; He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.

There is only one place and one path where our soul is daily restored, in the Fathers presence.  Walking in deep personal relationship with the Father is the only way to find the Fathers perfect plan for your life. All other plans are so pathetic and pale in comparison.

What an awesome amazing thought. The Father does not lead you because you deserve it. We deserve death and less than nothing but the Father does this because of His great love.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff, they comfort me.

Beyond the shadow. Walking with the Father provides full confidence that He will bring us through every shadow and circumstances far stronger and spiritually higher. All things work for God to those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.

5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

are you dwelling in the house of the Lord today? This is not just for a future day but today  the Father has invited you to live in His house and dwell in His presence forever more. I have prepared a place for you. Seated with Christ in heavenly places and your citizenship is in heaven.

Psalms 23

1 ( A Psalm of David. ) My heavenly Father the shepherd and keeper of my soul. My Father has provided for my every need and my soul is completely content in Him.
2 He leads me through pastures of provision and extravagant blessing. He walks with me near still waters that bringing peace and tranquility to my heart.
3 Daily walking with my Father completely transforms my entire being and brings restoration to my soul. My Father guides me in the perfect paths He has planned for my life to fulfill His promise as my Father.
4 Though I am walking through valley of the shadow of death, I have nothing to fear because my heavenly Father is with me. His disciplining rod and protective staff bring me great comfort knowing regardless of circumstances I am always safe in the Father’s arms.
5 My Father prepares a place of great provision even in the midst of those who oppose me. He continually floods my heart with His immeasurable grace until it overflows out of every area of my life.

6 The Father’s grace and mercy floods every day of my earthly existence and I will walk with Him in His eternal kingdom for all eternity.

Psalms 24

1 ( A Psalm of David. )God created everything in the world and everything in the universe belongs to Him.

2 By His almighty power the Lord filled the oceans with water and determined the boundaries of the raging seas.

3 Who is worthy to enter God’s eternal kingdom? Who can continually live in His eternal presence?

4 Only those who are have a passionate heart after God and are living a pure life.  Those who live in God’s presence are always true to their word and refuse to waste time pursue earthly vanity.
5 Because of their relentless pursuit of God, they are extravagantly blessed and abide in unbroken fellowship with their Father.

6 These are the characteristics of a generation who are truly seeking God and will forever chanhe the world. They walk in close relationship with the Father and continually  seek His face. Selah (contemplate this in wonder and awe. Awaken your heart to fully comprehend the gravity and reality of this truth.
7 My Children open up the gates of your hearts and fully allow the King of glory to come in! Oh the everlasting doors of your hearts have been waiting since the beginning of time to be fully flooded with the presence and power of the King of Glory.

8 Who is the King of glory? The Almighty Creator and King of the universe who has infinite power and strength. He is more powerful than any force in the universe and is victorious in every battle.
9 Open your hearts my child and allow the King of glory to fully reveal Himself and flood your lives with His presence.

10 Who the King of glory? The King of the Universe he  is the King of glory who longs to fully inhabit and permanently live in your heart. Selah.

Psalms 25

1 ( A Psalm of David. ) Father to you alone I surrender my deepest desires, dreams and every area of my life.
2 Father with every fiber in my being I trust in you alone. If you are with me I will never be ashamed or defeated.

4 Show me Thy ways, O LORD; teach me Thy paths.
5 Lead me in Thy truth and teach me, for Thou art the God of my salvation; on Thee do I wait all the day.

The only way to find and live in Gods perfect plan is to continually waiting on the Lord is desperation all day and all night. We need to continually seek to learn His ways. Knowing the Father is the only way to be able to follow His perfect plan.

Humility – complete dependence on and obedience to the Father – is the only way to fulfill the Fathers perfect plan. Humility is learning the futility of all your plans and realizing it is impossible to survive outside of Gods provision.

9 The meek will He guide in judgment, and the meek will He teach His way.
10 All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth, unto them that keep His covenant and His testimonies.

12 What man is he that feareth the LORD? Him shall He teach in the way that He shall choose.
13 His soul shall dwell at ease, and his seed shall inherit the earth.
14 The secret of the LORD is with them that fear Him, and He will show them His covenant.
15 Mine eyes are ever toward the LORD, for He shall pluck my feet out of the net.

Are your eyes continually seeking and fixed on the Father?

Psalms 26

1 Judge me, O LORD, for I have walked in mine integrity. I have also trusted in the LORD; therefore I shall not slide.
2 Examine me, O LORD, and test me; try my reins and my heart.

If you desire to know the Father and follow His perfect plan, this scripture must become our heartbeat and continual prayer.

3 For Thy lovingkindness is before mine eyes, and I have walked in Thy truth.

During the course of a day what do you all set your eyes on?

6 I will wash mine hands in innocence; so will I compass Thine altar, O LORD,
7 that I may proclaim with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all Thy wondrous works.
8 LORD, I have loved the habitation of Thy house, and the place where Thine honor dwelleth.

11 But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity; redeem me and be merciful unto me.
12 My foot standeth on a level place; in the congregations will I bless the LORD.

Psalms 27

1 The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

if you are a child of Great King of the entire universe it is illogical and completely insane to be afraid or worry about anything.

3 Though an army should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war should rise against me, even in this will I be confident.
4 One thing have I desired of the LORD; that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD and to inquire in His temple.
5 For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; in the secret places of His tabernacle shall He hide me; He shall set me upon a rock.

Father open my eyes to see heaven coming to earth. Swallowing up all false illusions of virtual reality in this temporal world.

7 Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice! Have mercy also upon me and answer me.
8 When Thou saidst, “Seek ye My face, ” my heart said unto Thee, “Thy face, LORD, will I seek. ”

13 I would have fainted, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.
14 Wait on the LORD; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart. Wait, I say, on the LORD!

Psalms 28

1 Unto Thee will I cry, O LORD my rock; be not silent to me, lest, if Thou be silent, I become like them that go down into the pit.
2 Hear the voice of my supplications when I cry unto Thee, when I lift up my hands toward the oracle of Thy sanctuary.

7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in Him, and I am helped. Therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth, and with my song will I praise Him.
8 The LORD is their strength, and He is the saving strength of His anointed.
9 Save the people, and bless Thine inheritance; feed them also, and lift them up forever.

Psalms 29

1 Give unto the LORD, O ye mighty; give unto the LORD glory and strength.
2 Give unto the LORD the glory due unto His name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.

3 The voice of the LORD is upon the waters; the God of glory thundereth; the LORD is upon many waters.
4 The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is full of majesty.
5 The voice of the LORD breaketh the cedars; yea, the LORD breaketh the cedars of Lebanon.

7 The voice of the LORD divideth the flames of fire.
8 The voice of the LORD shaketh the wilderness; the LORD shaketh the Wilderness of Kadesh.
9 The voice of the LORD maketh the hinds to calve, and layeth bare the forests, and in His temple doth every one speak of His glory.
10 The LORD sitteth over the flood; yea, the LORD sitteth as King for ever.
11 The LORD will give strength unto His people; the LORD will bless His people with peace.

The Only Source of True Passion

How long until your heart breaks for what my heart breaks for? How long until you my kingdom will becomes your sole purpose in life?

How long until you care about my city more than the cares and details of your own life? How long until your devotion becomes more than emotion?

How long until you get serious enough to pray seek and fast to learn anguish in my heart for my city and my church?

Until you take the time in prayer to learn my heart your heart will lack the intensity and anguish to do anything meaningful and of eternal value for my kingdom.

Until you have taken the time in prayer to learn my heart everything you try to do is mere emotion, a work of flesh and powerless. How much time have you wasted with such actions??

All your ideas and ministry are powerless until God has set your life ablaze with His fire of holy anguish that will propel and fuel your life to fulfill His will. His anguish will so grip your life You will not be able to rest or be content anywhere apart from the complete fulfillment of the Fathers will. This is the only source of passion and motivation that will enable you to fulfill your journey and do Gods will.

Eventually all other sources of passion and motivation will burn out partway through the journey leaving you exhausted and spent. All other sources of passion or purpose no matter how spiritual will fail.

the Holy fire and anguish that comes from being alone in the presence of God is he only adequate fuel source that will enable you to fulfill your Kingdom mission and once again establish the Fathers kingdom on this earth.
